Transferee and Re-Joiner Police Constables - Specialist Operations

C Division
Birmingham New Street
Police Constable (PC)
Full Time
Constable Rank

British Transport Police (BTP) are looking to recruit a Transferee or Re-joiner as Police Constable within a Disruptive Effects Team based at Birmingham New Street.

Our Disruptive Effects Officers (DEOs) work closely with colleagues from Specialist Operations and other parts of BTP, external agencies and other police forces to develop and deploy Project Servator tactics across BTP. We use Project Servator to disrupt a wide range of criminal activity on the rail network while providing a reassuring presence for the travelling public.

You will plan and participate in intelligence-led operations involving high-visibility and plain-clothed officers and other policing assets designed specifically for the rail environment. You will work with our partners to engage with our communities and stakeholders, conduct vehicle stop checks and person checks, and disrupt terrorist and criminal activity on the rail system.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and a genuine affinity with proactive plain-clothes work, and should be equally confident in engaging with the public, offering reassurance and encouraging the public and partners to act as our extra eyes and ears. You should also have a good knowledge of CT operations and legislation. Candidates must be prepared to undertake enhanced vetting within BTP, and to attend and pass role-specific training prior to being operational in the role.

More information about this vacancy can be found in the attached ‘Role Profile’.
