British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting for a Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst on a Permanent Contract. The role is paying £48,254.40 per annum. This role offers a blended approach and will have flexibility to work hybrid, with occasional travel to our Force Headquarters, London.

We are a national police force covering the rail network throughout Great Britain, including the London Underground, ensuring the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year.

As a Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst you will be required to:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive financial models to support strategic budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes, incorporating key business drivers, assumptions, and scenario analysis.
  • Clean and prepare the data for analysis, including handling missing values, correcting data types and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Design and oversee the creation of interactive and insightful Excel/Power BI models and dashboards that effectively communicate data findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and project manage multiple projects and ‘business as usual’ activities, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Be an ambassador for the Department, representing the Lean Project manager and other senior leaders as required.

The successful Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will be required to evidence the following: 

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling to design, build and maintain models.
  • Project managing complex projects from conception through to completion.
  • Designing Financial Dashboards in PowerBi using ETL.
  • SQL and Python experience would be useful, but not essential.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Experience in delivering complex messages, in a clear and understandable way.
  • Working in collaboration with Stakeholders and end users to influence ways of working and decision making.
