People Information & Data Analyst is required for a permanent role paying Â£36,529.65 plus £3033.56 London Allowance (London Allowance is only applicable to London-based candidates) per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based at any one of our main BTP hubs: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff or Glasgow.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing.

As People Information & Data Analyst, you will provide accurate and timely HR information, data and analysis to the People & Culture function, BTP and beyond in compliance with regulatory, professional and service standards in support of Force governance processes, performance management and wider organisational objectives.

As People Information & Data Analyst, you will be required to:

  • Provide information, reports and specific data to support organisational objectives and measures.
  • Provide routine reports and analysis on the performance of the People & Culture function against its KPI’s and any other relevant measures determined from time to time.
  • Manage the ORACLE Discoverer reporting tool including identifying the root cause of any service, performance and process failures and proposing solutions and making agreed changes so that all service standards are met. Support the building of an SQL Library to ensure appropriate back up of SQL code while we transition to Power BI reporting.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all People data and review this periodically to ensure its accuracy.
  • Carry out periodic audits to ensure that all position data in relation to employees is accurate and up to date.

The successful People Information & Data Analyst will be required to evidence the following:

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a related discipline (e.g. including analytical/mathematical/informational elements) or equivalent experience.
  • A successful track record in analysing, managing and reporting People information & data in a large, multi disciplined operational organisation.
  • Strong IT skills with knowledge of the relevant IT systems and with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, PowerBI and SQL. Good knowledge and understanding of Origin and Duties Management System. 
  • Ability to render data and information into visually comprehensible representations such as charts, graphs etc.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of a variety of statistical and analytical techniques and tools achieved through applying these in workplace situations.
  • An understanding and knowledge of Human Resources concepts such as resourcing and workforce planning, gained in a variety of organisational contexts.
