We are recruiting for a Digital Forensics Unit Accreditation Support Officer for a temporary, full time role until May 2024 paying £27,174.00 per annum, plus £3,957.00 Market Supplement and £2,835.11 London Allowance per annum with the British Transport Police (BTP) based at Ebury Bridge (Victoria).

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As a Digital Forensics Unit Accreditation Support Officer with BTP you will provide administrative support to the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) Technical Manager and Assistant Technical Manager’s (Technical Management) to enable them to deliver an effective and efficient, high quality digital service to the British Transport Police, the community and the Criminal Justice system.

 

As a Digital Forensics Unit Accreditation Support Officer you will be required to:

  • Assist with drafting documentation to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Supporting the Technical Management in rectifying the non-conformances to ensure continued delivery of technical operations.
  • Assist with the competence testing of all DFU (including Spektor and Kiosk) staff.
  • Administer the CCU’s participation in Inter-Lab Comparisons (ILC) and Proficiency Testing (PT).

 

Further information about this vacancy can be found in the attached job description. The successful Digital Forensics Unit Accreditation Support Officer will be required to evidence the following:

  • Experience of working within an ISO accredited environment or one that is working towards accreditation.
  • Experience of working in a digital environment (computers or mobile devices).
  • An aptitude for and keenness to develop skills in the technical elements of mobile devices, computers and /or digital media.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London. The new pension scheme is awaiting formal approval and an introductory date is not finalised.
