Data Administrator is required on with the Suicide Prevention and Mental Health department on a 12 month fixed term contract paying Â£19,607.75 plus Â£2,700 London Allowance with British Transport Police (BTP) based in the Force Headquarters, Camden London.


BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s railways. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a Data Administrator with BTP you will support the Suicide Prevention and Mental Health department by ensuring effective data management and supporting the provision and collation of high quality, accurate and relevant research to be used in conjunction with the teams reporting requirements.

 

The data being input relates to suicide prevention and mental health, therefore the successful candidate will be reading incidents that involve self-harm, and people who have attempted to take their life. It also goes into the persons background which at times can be disturbing.

As a Data Administrator you will be required to:

  • Collect information from various internal and external sources for the purpose of research and analysis. The post holder will be expected to follow relevant policy and procedure relating to the information.
  • Maintenance of database, the post holder will be expected to input data in a consistent and accurate manner onto all systems.  
  • Collate and extract information into a suitable format for Research and Analysis.

The successful Data Administrator will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Can demonstrate attention to detail
  • Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Experience in using multiple sources of information in order to extract the necessary data to be input
  • Trained and experienced in using Microsoft Office applications and different databases for the purpose of research and presenting results.
  • Previous experience in collating research using a range of data sources and effectively displaying the results both verbally and in writing.
