A Vulnerability Data & Compliance Administrator is required on a permanent contract paying £21,808.98 per annum, plus £2,700.10 London Allowance per annum, (if applicable) with the British Transport Police (BTP) based in London. This role offers blended working and applications outside of London will be considered.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As Vulnerability Data & Compliance Administrator with BTP you will support the Vulnerability Unit FHQ and wider public protection command by ensuring effective data management and, supporting the provision and collation of high quality and accurate information/ intelligence in a timely manner to both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Vulnerability Data & Compliance Administrator you will be required to:

  • Handle and process information which is of a highly sensitive and personal nature.
  • Manage and maintain two vital databases within the Unit, the post holder will be expected to collate and input information/ intelligence from various sources into a central location.
  • Ensure timeliness in communicating information to support the real time suicide surveillance regarding incidents and vulnerable individuals to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance of the databases to ensure accuracy and, to bridge information/intelligence gaps to support the research and analytical role.
  • To have additional ownership of workstreams associated with the databases as well as supporting the Unit in various workstreams allowing for resilience within the department.

The successful Vulnerability Data & Compliance Administrator will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Research/ data administration evidenced either through work experience or educational background.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel for inputting, organising and sorting data.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and data management skills with the ability to work accurately and methodically whilst under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and work well as part of a team-mutually supportive and collaborative working style
  • Be able to work confidently with minimum supervision taking personal responsibility for workload.

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London. The new pension scheme is awaiting formal approval and an introductory date is not finalised.
