British Transport Police (BTP) require a Volunteer Programme Manager on a permanent contractpaying Â£29,735.46 per annum plus a London Allowance of £2,520.00 based in our Force Headquarters in Camden, London.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As a Volunteer Programme Manager you will manage, develop and promote BTP’s Volunteer Programme and all its related strands to the members of public, railway community and stakeholders. You will drive an effective continuous improvement approach to all strands of the Volunteer Programme, and support the Citizens in Policing Manager in delivering against BTP's coporate and governance requirements.

The successful Volunteer Programme Manager will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Degree level qualification and / or equivalent experience in the volunteering sector.
  • Relevant project management experience and track record of successfully managing volunteer schemes in the public sector.
  • Experience of policy development and implementation in a large and/or national organisation.
  • Knowledge of relevant procedures and legislation relating to volunteering, especially on health and safety and young people.
  • Proven problem solving and creative thinking skills with the ability to come up with new and innovative solution to problems.
