A Server Support Specialist is required for an 18 month fixed term contract with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Camden, London. 

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s railways. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a Server Support Specialist with BTP you will offer specialist support for all server activity across the estate.

Key activities include:

  • Facilitate and execute the installation and maintenance of system software such as operating systems, data management products and office automation products.
  • Support 650 remote access users connecting via Citrix and around 15 Citrix enabled applications.
  • To work as part of the wider Infrastructure Team to support core products.

 Experience of the below technologies is desirable:

  • Linux operating system
  • SAN and NAS technologies
  • SCCM 2010
  • Server management tools and techniques
  • UNIX Operating System Level
  • VMware server installation and management

  • Salary up to £47,776.61 (£36,843.67 + 10% on call allowance + £2,520 London Allowance + a SFIA supplement of up to £4,729 depending on skills and experience)
