British Transport Police are recruiting for two IT Project Coordinators for 18 month fixed term contracts to support our project team delivering the procurement and implementations of our new Wider Area Network (WAN).


BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As IT Project Coordinator with BTP you will coordinate the IT elements of this major programme through to completion.

 

Key activities include:

  • Ensuring successful project outcomes through the use of project management principles and Change Management controls.
  • To provide project assurance at project meetings, reporting progress at project boards as well as compiling related risks and issues.
  • Tracking and reporting of programme progress and performance.

 

Further information about this vacancy can be found in the attached job description. The successful Project Coordinator will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Good experience of planning and leading small to medium sized technology projects.
  • Good experience of developing and managing customer relationships.
  • Experience of working within a large complex organisation, negotiating and influencing personnel at all levels.
  • Experience of working in all stages of the project development lifecycle, with experience of facilitating, creating and overseeing project plans.
  • Experience of designing and maintaining effective systems to support project delivery, resource management and quality.
  • Prince 2 qualification or good knowledge of project methodology.
