An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Support Officer on a 23 month fixed term contract with British Transport Police paying £27,824.32 plus £2,700.10 London Allowance per annum based at our Force Headquarters, Camden, London.

Whilst this role is based at Force Headquarters, remote working is supported.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. 

As a Programme Support Officer with BTP you will provide effective coordination and support to the Programme Manager in the development and delivery of force wide projects.

Responsibilities of the successful post holder include:

  • Develop, maintain and hold responsibility for the central programme documentation
  • Make day to day decisions regarding project governance and financial spend profiles, highlighting any issues together with recommendations and supporting rationale.
  • Be responsible for gathering data and reporting on project and programme progress
  • Co-ordinate workshops, briefings and training events to assist Programme and Project managers in briefing or consulting parts of the organisation improving
  • Manage incoming calls and e-mails and maintain administrative functions

The successful Programme Support Officer will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or relevant work experience
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience of project management methodology
  • Experience of working in a project environment providing support to successful projects.
  • Extensive experience of working in a co-ordination role in a fast paced office environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent I.T. and administrative skills
