A CCTV Video Technician is   required on a permanent contract, paying up to £25,121.98 (Inclusive of   £2495 London Allowance) with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Manchester.
  

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure   the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout   England, Scotland and Wales. As a CCTV Video Technician you will be required   to process CCTV data to produce evidence packages ensuring evidential   integrity in accordance with relevant legislation and Home Office guidance.

 

As a CCTV Video Technician you will be required to:

  • View CCTV data, produce still images, produce Master & Working Copy discs as evidential packages.
  • Carry out basic enhancements to CCTV images to produce clear images to assist with police and other law enforcement agencies investigations.
  • Ensure records are maintained, updating CRIME and other Force databases with details of CCTV activities undertaken and ensure that all evidence is handled in accordance with Force policy.
  • Adapt quickly to a dynamic working environment and make appropriate decisions based on sound personal judgement.

The successful CCTV Video Technician will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Video editing and production experience in a criminal justice environment.
  • Use of CCTV equipment and downloading CCTV data,
  • Good Communication and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
