An Intelligence Analyst is required for a Fixed Term Contract of 23 months as part of the Force Intelligence Bureau paying £26,483.59 plus £2,570 London Allowance per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Central London Police Station, Goodge Street, London.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As an Intelligence Analyst with BTP you will provide expertise through the development and use of analytical products to assist decision-making at a strategic, tactical and operational level.

This specific Intelligence Analyst role will be in support of the High Speed 1(HS1) rail-route between Kings Cross St. Pancras and Ashford International.

Within this specific Intelligence Analyst role you will be required to:

  • Have experience of producing complex performance reports and dashboards, both alone and as part of a team.

 

  • Produce high quality analytical work and deliver a high quality and timely analytical service in support of BTP's objectives and priorities.

 

  • Attend various meetings on behalf of BTP as the embedded HS1 analyst to report on periodic performance figures.
  • Conduct analysis at a strategic, tactical and/or operational level, identifying and using appropriate analytical tools and techniques to interpret gaps, patterns and trends, assess threat, risk and harm and make recommendations in support of decision making, prioritisation and resource allocation.
  • Work with researchers and intelligence development officers to analyse intelligence exceptions and trends to identify any high risk incidents that pose risk to the railway infrastructure

 

 The successful Intelligence Analyst will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Have experience in research and analytical skills evidenced either through work experience or educational background.
  • Trained and experienced in using Microsoft Office applications and different databases for the purposes of research and analysis.
  • Experience of producing research and analysis dealing with different types of data for example data mining, use of databases.
