A Systems Support Officer is   required on a permanent basis with British Transport Police (BTP) based at   our Force Headquarters in Camden, London. Annual salary is £31,666.23 per   annum plus £2,495 London Allowance.

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we   ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and   railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a Systems Support Officer you   will be responsible to for diagnosing the root cause of any perceived   failures of the finance system as well as managing potential opportunities   for improving in effectiveness and efficiency of the systems involved.

As a Systems Support Officer you will be required to:

  • Maintain the integrity of the financial system including reviewing and developing robust processes and controls.
  • Identifying opportunities for control improvements and effective implementation.
  • Develop, manage and monitor the effective delivery of BTPF’s financial processes by ensuring that effective financial procedures are produced and adhered to.
  • Effectively support the implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Work closely with the Financial Control function to review current IT systems specifically looking at user access needs and maximising usage of current systems to meet the organisation’s needs.

The successful Systems Support Officer will be required to evidence the following skills/experience:

  • An IT expert with extensive background in finance systems, and operating platform.
  • Proven experience and technical understanding of other finance and procurement systems.
  • Ability to programme interfaces between Finance and non-Finance Systems. CSV programming skills
