British Transport Police (BTP) is the national police force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

We are looking to recruit a Communications Support Engineer to be based from our Force Headquarters in Camden London, on a permanent contract. The salary for this position is up to £31,501.98 (£25,707.23 and £2,495 London Allowance + a SFIA supplement of up to £3,299.75).

Responsible for the day to day management and support of devices in BTPs mobile fleet ensuring officers and staff have a robust reliable fleet. This includes mobile, Blackberry, Mobile Data devices, Radios and associated peripherals.

Responsible for the procurement and build of mobile devices and Blackberry within budgetary limits.

The role operates in an ITIL service management environment.

The role is responsible for producing regular management information and reporting.

Responsible for robust asset management including audit. Ensure the product lifecycle is maintained throughout in accordance with security and sustainability requirements.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Experience of managing a fleet or portable communciation devices.
  • Experience of supporting radio devices.
  • Experience of administering incident resolution.
