An opportunity has become available for a Resource Planning Manager with British Transport Police Paying £27,824.32 per annum based at Force Resource Planning Unit - Central Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity for successful post holders to be responsible for resourcing the organisation’s most important assets, it’s people.   

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As a Resource Planning Manager with BTP, you will play a key part in keeping the travelling public safe by ensuring our Police Officers and Support Staff are in the right place at the right time to serve the Public.  Your role will vary from resourcing high profile events, protests, football (both club and International fixtures) to maintaining 24-hour cover across the UK rail network.   

The Force Resource Planning Unit is operational 7 days per week between 0700 and 1900 hrs and to maintain this capability, employees within the Unit will be fully supported to work an agile approach utilising a roster that enables a blended approach of home and office-based working.

Please note that the successful Resource Planning Manager will be required to evidence: 

  • Experience of working within a dynamic planning environment and/or prior experience managing workflow, focusing on quality and timescales to achieve set KPIs, SLAs and deadlines. 
  • Previous experience a business-critical team with a desire to invest in staff development, coaching and empowerment. 
  • A proven ability to horizon-scan and plan effectively whilst having the courage to challenge, negotiate with and build positive working relationships with an array of stakeholders, including senior management. 
  • A successful track record of working as part of a team in a large, multi-disciplined operational organisation. 
  • An ability to multi-task, problem-solve and manage conflicting priorities, whilst working under pressure to tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. 
  • A track record of successfully researching, analysing and interpreting key data, including legislation, internal policies and employment terms and conditions.
