Energy Manager

An Energy Manager is required for a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract paying up to £43,194.62 with British Transport Police (BTP) based at our Force Headquarters in Camden.
 
  BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As an Energy Manager you will be required to manage £1.5m of utilities contracts providing energy supplies and services to the national Force estate and related contracts e.g. Display Energy Certificates. You will also be responsible for developing a corporate strategy for energy usage which supports achievement of Force carbon   reduction targets and the effective delivery of the Estates Strategy.

As an Energy Manager you will be required to:

• Be responsible for the development and implementation of energy policy and strategy in line with the Estates Strategy and Force Strategic Plan.

• Contract management of central energy contracts and associated energy infrastructure (e.g. metering, BMS, etc.), including undertaking relevant tenders and strategic sourcing of suppliers.

• Development and implementation of streamlined reporting systems and processes for energy data, supporting BTP bill validation and reporting to Government on carbon emissions.

The successful Energy Manager will be required to evidence the following skills and experience:

• Have the ability to write concise, clear and robust business cases and informative reports.

• Energetic and resilient with the ability to prioritise and organise demanding workloads whilst meeting performance standards.

• Experience of working in the field of sustainability and embedding Government initiatives such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment and Greening Government Commitment.

• Experience of utilities contract and billing management.

• Experience of RE:FIT and/or Salix Fund investments.
