Three Finance Business Partners are required for permanent roles paying up to £58,041.24 with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Camden, Central London.



BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As Finance Business Partner with BTP you will be responsible for providing a proactive financial management service to support your respective Chief Officer Group Lead and their associated budget holders and budgets of approximately £60m to £180m.


As Finance Business Partner you will be required to:


  • Develop a five-year financial strategy for c£0.5bn spend
  • Develop business bases which span a number of years and whole-life costs of between £1-20m
  • Work closely with the most senior Officers and members of Police Staff in their respective areas. This will be either: Capability and Resources, Territorial Policing and Specialist Operations or Public Contact, Crime and Justice.

  • Fully-qualified member of one of the five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies (CCAB), i.e. ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAI or ICAS or a European/International equivalent
  • Extensive post-qualification experience within a finance function at board-level
  • Sound understanding and proven experience of delivering value-added financial reporting that supports decision making
  • Demonstrable experience of operating at board level in an influential capacity
