A Capital Accountant is required for a permanent role paying up to £43,194.62 with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Camden, Central London

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As Capital Accountant with BTP you will be responsible for developing, reviewing and updating capital accounting policies with a key focus on Fixed Asset accounting.

 

As Capital Accountant you will be required to:

  • Develop and implement arrangements for maintaining a complete, accurate and up-to-date fixed asset register
  • Develop an appropriate cost centre structure to support financial reporting
  • Provide regular financial information to Project Managers to enable effective tracking and forecasting of project spend

 

Further information about this vacancy can be found in the attached job description. The successful Capital Accountant will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Fully-qualified member of one of the five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies (CCAB), i.e. ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAI or ICAS or a European/International equivalent
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of FReM
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills will be absolutely required
