We are currently recruiting for a Researcher on a PERMANENT basis, paying £22,626.98 per annum plus £2,495 London Allowance with British Transport Police (BTP) basedat our FQG, London. 

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a Researcher with BTP you will be required to collate information from various internal and external sources for the purpose of research and analysis. You will also be required to undertake in-depth open source research and identify and develop new sources of information.

 

As a researcher you will be required to:

  • Research, interrogate and interpret trends and patterns to identify subjects for further analysis using information gathered from a wide range of data sources.
  • Collate information into suitable format for analysis. Undertake the manipulation of large data sets, both numerical and text.
  • Compile research products (i.e. Subject profiles) from information gathered.
  • Build up and maintain a broad network of internal and external contacts for the purpose of data sharing, research analysis and best practice.

The successful researcher will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Have the ability to manage a demanding workload
  • Proven problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft office and IT systems to be able to gather date and present results.
