The British Transport Police (BTP) is the specialist police force for Britain’s railways, providing a policing service to rail operators, their staff and passengers, keeping them safe and secure. As a public body, the British Transport Police Authority (BTPA) holds the BTP to account for the delivery of this vital police service, ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency.

The Authority wishes to appoint a Chief Executive.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic and determined operator who is an excellent communicator and experienced CEO or Director.

You will be expected to demonstrate a desire and proven ability to challenge in a constructive fashion to achieve clear outcomes. You should also be able to demonstrate strong team-working, communication, strategic, and interpersonal skills; sound judgement and a high level of personal integrity; experience of engaging effectively with the commercial world and understanding the user perspective; and a commitment to an equal opportunities and diversity agenda.
