A Data Compliance Officer is required on a permanent contract paying £27,145.68 per annum plus 15% Shift allowance with British Transport Police (BTP) based at our First Contact Centre BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s railways. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As Data Compliance Officer with BTP you will be required to provide a 24/7 real time intelligence capability by carrying out high quality and timely research from various internal and external sources in connection with the operational requirements of the real time intelligence function across the force.

As a Data Compliance Officer you will be required to:

  • To ensure all closing and qualifiers codes used accurately reflect the outcome of the incident.
  • To ensure incident closure summary entries clearly annotate the rationale for final classifications and providing reasons for any change from initial incident opening classification as required
  • To provide support with supervisor action plans where particular training and development needs are identified as part of Incident Management actions.

The successful Data Compliance Officer will be required to evidence the following skills/experience:


  • Ability to work effectively as part of team and build effective working relationships across an organisation
  • Able to assimilate information quickly, evaluate options and make informed decisions, acting accordingly and in line with all Force policies, practices and procedure
  • Self -motivated, with proven ability to work on their own
