British Transport Police (BTP) have an exciting opportunity for a permanent IT Programme Manager to implement our new Wider Area Network (WAN) based at our Technology Department in Camden.

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As WAN Programme Manager with BTP you will oversee the identification, planning and implementation of a new WAN delivering all aspects of the project in relation to its strategies and objectives.

 

Key challenges and accountabilities for the role include:

  • To maintain the strategic overview, providing the framework for implementing this major business initiative and large-scale change, by conceiving, maintaining and communicating a vision of the outcome of the programme.
  • To adapt the business requirements, and translation of those requirements into an operational plan.
  • Determination, monitoring, and review of programme costs, operational budgets, programme staffing requirements, programme resources, inter dependencies and programme risk.
  • The identification, planning and coordination of a set of related projects within a programme of business change, to manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives.

 

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Exposure to WAN implementation.
  • Extensive experience of programme management including delivery of large scale, complex programmes.
  • Extensive experience of writing strategic documents, complex business cases and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Good experience of infrastructure technologies.
  • Experienced in delivering IT programmes in both traditional and agile environments.

•           Salary up to £72,311.84 (£55,456.24 + £2,470 London Allowance + a SFIA supplement of up to £14,385.60).
