CCTV Evidence Officers are required on a permanent basis paying £20,117.79 plus 15% Shift Allowance and £2,520 London Allwance with British Transport Police (BTP) based at Ebury Bridge.

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a CCTV Evidence Officer with BTP you will collect CCTV evidence packages ensuring the evidential integrity of the product. You will also be required to identify CCTV images which require further forensic processing in order to achieve best evidence.

As a CCTV Evidence Officer you will be required to:

  • Perform field based first line role by viewing raw CCTV footage in situ, from multiple CCTV systems (all of which they should be proficient on), to ascertain which images will support investigations.
  • Identify CCTV evidence for Post Production after consultation with the Officer in the Case. Prepare and submit any original footage together with relevant documentation stipulating what further processes are required.
  • Report any system faults encountered during the viewing and downloading of footage to the appropriate authority in line with force policy.

The successful CCTV Evidence Officer will be required to evidence the following skills:

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work alone with effective time management skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft package.
