A Messaging Engineering Specialist is required for a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract role paying up to £46,737.81 (inclusive of London Allowance and SFIA Supplement) per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Force Headquarters, Camden, London.


BTP is the national police force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As Messaging Engineering Specialist with BTP you will provide specialist mobile engineering knowledge and expertise to be lead technically on projects to upgrade BTP mobility platform (based on BES's UEM platform and Android). its functionality and to build and implement projects to support front-line officers, working with suppliers to integrate the secure mobile platform with BTP's backend command and despatch and crime recording systems and geo-spatial aspects thereof.

 

As Messaging Engineering Specialist you will be required to:

  • Implement and integrate secure mobile services and solutions
  • Improve BTP mobility platform functionality
  • Build and implement projects to support front-line officers, working with suppliers to integrate the secure mobile platform with BTP's backend command and despatch and crime recording systems and geo-spatial aspects thereof.

The successful Messaging Engineering Specialist will be Educated to Degree Level ideally in a STEM subject or equivalent professional/ industry qualification or membership of a relevant professional body (eg MBCS, APM, CCN)
