An ETL Developer is required for a permanent role paying up to £50,268.34 per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based in Camden, London. 

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast-paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As ETL Developer with BTP you will form part of our Strategic Centre, overseeing the activity of ETL solutions.


Key activities include:


  • Design, development, testing and maintenance of ETL solutions to agreed specification
  • Working with a team of Data Scientists to build an environment utilising a range of data sources from across policing, transport, social demographic and big data, in which to gain valuable insight
  • To extract data from core operational systems using structured and unstructured data
  • Management of information reports for senior officers, managers, and external partners
  • Identifying new and innovative solutions to data problems

Key requirements include:

  • Experience of; Azure, SQL, BOLB Storage, Data Lakes
  • Hands on Power BI development with Python/R/SQL
  • Extensive experience of working with an ETL tool
  • Experience of system testing and the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Experience of supporting and manipulating complex data sets to aid data insight
