We are recruiting for a Senior Cyber Engineer on a permanent contract paying up to £63,632.31 per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based at BTP Force Headquarters, Camden, London. 

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year.

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Forces IT estate. Working within the Cyber Security team and reporting to the Head of Cyber Security, the post holder will play a critical role in protecting BTP’s infrastructure, systems and data from malicious cyber threats. They will also act as the subject matter expert as we transform to new technologies and working practices, developing BTP’s cyber offering and leading on the creation and implementation of the core NIST cyber security pillars: (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond & Recover).The role will deliver operational cyber security analysis and response, support to other teams within Technology, assist project teams via provision of security requirements, design and implementation validation. The post holder will also offer specialist advice and guidance to stakeholders as well as upskilling team members and assist in maturing the existing cyber security function. BTP operate a flexible working policy, including the ability to work from home. The role will be based at our Force Head Quarters (FHQ) in Camden and will require at least 2 days in the office. Travel to sites may be required and flexibility in working hours to manage/resolve high priority incidents

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London. The new pension scheme is awaiting formal approval and an introductory date is not finalised.
