A Digital Workplace Engineer ( 3rd Line role  End User Computing) is required for a permanent role paying £43,425.21 per annum with British Transport Police (BTP) based in at BTP Force Headquarters, Camden, London. 

This an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support our Digital Workplace and the implementation of new EUC technologies. Provide incident / problem management service in respect of incidents / problems affecting EUC devices, peripherals, installed software, undertake technical diagnostics and analysis.

BTP operate a flexible working policy, including the ability to work a mixture of home and office. The role will be based at our Force Head Quarters (FHQ) in Camden  and will require at least 2 days in the office.

Travel to other sites may be required and flexibility in working hours to manage/resolve high priority incidents, support project work and troubleshoot problems.

As an Digital Workplace Engineer (EUC) your responsibilities will include:

  • The provision of applications, configurations and OS maintenance and support services, using system management tools to groups of users or directly to users and their systems adhering to change management.
  • Extensive diagnostic information gathering, troubleshooting, problem analysis and resolution.
  • Investigation and proactive resolution of issues and may also include performance monitoring.
  • Providing advice or training to users,  1st and 2nd line teams, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults.
  • Making general or site-specific configurations, modification and bespoke solutions.
  • Updating or creating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues specialising in different areas, such as Digital Workplace, Infrastructure & Network services support, Cyber Security as well as vendors and third-party support providers.

The successful Digital Workplace Engineer will be required to evidence the following:

  • Good experience of working in a customer focused end-user support function covering EUC and software/OS installations, updates and 3rd line support.
  • Good experience of incident resolution, requests, changes and problem-solving activities delivered to agreed SLAs.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft's M365 and Azure product offerings including high level capabilities and competitor products.
  • Supporting Windows 10 and Android using Microsoft Intune.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting Windows 10, MS Office 365 and MDM solutions.
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell and cloud configuration.
  • Experience with Intune, SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager), Samsung KNOX is desirable.
