Violent and Sexual Offender Register (ViSOR) Officer is required on a Permanent contract paying £23,310.30 per annum plus £2,520.00 London Allowance with British Transport Police (BTP) based in our Force Headquarters in London (NW1).

BTP is the national police Force for Britain’s rail network. Every day we ensure the safety and security of over six million passengers and railway staff throughout England, Scotland and Wales. As a ViSOR Officer, you will support the day to day functions of the ViSOR Unit with
particular focus on Sexual Offences Scrutiny Panels, driving compliance in line with national requirements and in support of the Force Strategic Objectives.

As a ViSOR Officer you will be required to:

  • Coordinate and organise business-related activities for the Sexual Offences Scrutiny Panel to ensure these are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support intelligence development work around identified sexual and other high harm offenders.
  • Communicate and share outcomes, identifying learning and best practice from Scrutiny Panels to the wider organisation and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the Central Point of Contact for the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) for the Force.
  • Manage administration activity on the ViSOR system and for the unit, ensuring timeliness of records so they are updated as soon as reasonably practicable in line with Public Protection requirements.
  • Identify potential opportunities for prohibitive court orders and interventions in conjunction with intervention officers.

The successful ViSOR Officer will be required to evidence the following skills/experience:

  • Degree educated or equivalent experience within a criminal justice environment.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.
  • Experience of working in a stakeholder facing role with a high public profile.
  • Administrative experience, with a high level of organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Experience of project administration and supporting cross-department projects
